Maui for Extroverts: The Late Night Spots For You

While Maui is a chill and laid-back place, there's still plenty to do on the island for those who enjoy a more lively lifestyle. While it may not have the hustle and bustle you'll find on O'ahu, Maui has its own groovy dance spots, live music, and late-night entertainment.

Kihei

The Triangle

If you're on the south side of the island and you want a bit of lively nightlife, hit up an area called "The Triangle" in central Kihei. There you'll find South Shore Tiki Lounge, which has a dance floor, DJ's, and plenty of dancing on the weekends.

Plus, with a couple of other bars in the same area, you can always hop around if you're wanting a slightly different vibe. This is definitely the place to be if you want a higher-energy crowd and more of a "traditional" nightlife experience. However, the area has a bit of a reputation, so we wouldn't recommend staying there too late at night.

Maui Brew Co

If you want to go get a drink but enjoy a quieter, more wholesome environment, Maui Brew Co is a great option. With live music, lawn games, and locally brewed beers, this is a fun spot to hang out for a few hours. Try the Coconut Hiwa Porter or the Pineapple Mana for some tropical beers!

It closes at 10:00 pm, which is late by Maui standards, so keep that in mind when planning out your evenings.

West Side

If you're spending an evening out on the West Side of Maui, you'll find plenty to keep you there! While most of the nightlife is more laid back, there are some club-style spaces to check out as well.

Monkeypod

If you're just wanting dinner and drinks with live music, there are venues like Down the Hatch, Leilani's on the Beach, or even more upscale restaurants at the resorts to explore. A personal favorite is the Monkeypod in Ka'anapali, located at Whaler's Village. With live music typically in the late evening and some of the best drinks on the island, this is a fun spot to spend a few hours. Walk along the beach afterwards and get some stargazing in!

Java Jazz

Check out Java Jazz for a funky vibe in a family-friendly atmosphere. They have live music every night from 7 pm- 10 pm and is truly a unique and fun experience. Truly, the decor alone is enough to keep you entertained! There's fun art, barbies, crazy colors and more in this venue.

Pineapple Robot

Pineapple Robot has the late nights covered and is open until 1:30 am and offers delicious food, drinks, and karaoke! It's the perfect place to go, enjoy yourself, and let your inner pop star shine! Plus, it's got an upscale, beautiful vibe; it's an excuse to dress cute and hang out on the town.

Upcountry

While there are fewer options upcountry than in the coastal towns, you'll still be able to find some fun dancing at Casanova Restaurant. Head up there for a Ladies Night on Wednesdays, where the restaurant turns into a fun place to dance and socialize after 10:00 pm.

Monday night sees Karaoke, and there's often other events happening throughout the week as well. Check out their website to see what's up and coming!

Conclusion

While Maui is a quieter Hawaiian island, there's still plenty of fun places for anyone wanting a bit of nightlife on their trip. With craft cocktails, tons of wonderful local artists, and some dance spots, you're sure to find something to enjoy.
