There are countless "must-see" locations, numerous beaches to lounge on, and enticing foods to try. Where do you start?
The most important thing to remember when choosing what you want to do on your vacation is to make it your own.
Choose activities that fit well with your lifestyle. Are you a solo traveler? Are you traveling with kids? If you are traveling in a group, consider each group member's age when planning your excursions.
Thankfully, Maui provides fun for every type of traveler. For the adventurous vacationer, we highly recommend spending a whole day driving the famous "Road to Hana." The lush, jungle-like scenery is home to many waterfalls and hikes.
There are plenty of options to choose from, so pick your favorites and head on out for an adventure. Be sure to pack some snacks or make a stop at one of the banana bread stands along the drive.
We recommend spending a day at Po'olenalena Beach on Maui's south shore for the more laid-back vacationer looking for some rest. During the week, this spot is often less crowded and perfect for sunbathing & snorkeling. If you are lucky, there may even be a chance for a turtle sighting!

Everyone knows you can find some incredible places just by asking a local! Don't be afraid to ask someone where their favorite place to eat is or where the best family-friendly beaches are; you may just be surprised at what you find out.
One of our favorite hidden gems is the Ali'i Kula Lavender Farm in Upcountry Maui. This lesser-known part of Maui is home to green, rolling hills, cooler weather, and less than an hour's drive from Central Maui.
The lavender farm has breathtaking views of the entire island and is perfect for a relaxing morning or afternoon. Spend some time walking through the gardens, and be sure to stop in the gift shop for a cup of lavender tea and a scone.

You've made it all the way to Maui, and you want that "once in a lifetime" experience. We highly recommend choosing one or two special outings to maximize your trip.
We've compiled a list of a few excursions for you that will provide a memorable experience on the island. Some of these suggestions can be done on your own OR with a tour company.
