With stunning white sand, towering palm trees and crystal clear ocean water, Maui has gorgeous beaches. While the ocean is always something you should treat with respect, the following beaches tend to have calmer conditions perfect for families with younger kids.
The Kamaole Beach parks in Kihei are ideal for a family trip. Not only are they conveniently close to a huge variety of vacation condos, but they come fully equipped with a grassy area, showers, bathrooms, fluffy sand, and a great stretch of ocean to swim and play in.
For families with young children, baby beach in Paia has an offshore reef that makes the water calm and shallow. It's perfect for babies and toddlers!
The location is stunning so adults will enjoy it too; but it's best in the morning before the winds pick up.
Located in Wailea, Keawakapu has it all. There's a grassy area, plenty of palms for shade, and a stretch of sand in the sunlight. It's fronted by numerous houses and the Mana Kai hotel– which offers kayak and paddle board rentals.

A family Vacation on Maui wouldn't be complete without a boat tour! Depending on the time of year that you're visiting, you'll have different options for tours.
There are a lot of great companies on Maui to choose from, and each offers a different mix of elements so take your time choosing.
During the winter months in Maui, the humpback whales will migrate to Hawaii to mate and give birth. And boy is this a great time of year to be in Maui! Take a whale watch to get close to the magnificent creatures.
You can see them breach, slap the water with their fins, and hear their eerie song. It's truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
When the whales aren't around, snorkeling is a great way to see the underwater world. Check out the Molokini crater or take a day trip to the island of Lana'i! The fish are vibrant and the waters are perfect for snorkeling.
If you happen to be on Maui during a rainy day, go to the Maui Ocean Center! This is a great way to learn more about the multitude of sea creatures just beneath the waves, and also the Hawaiian culture itself.
Located near Wailuku, the Iao Valley State Monument is located in a lush valley. Exit your car and have your breath taken away by the stunning ridges and learn about the battle of Kepaniwai where Kamehameha I conquered the Maui army back in 1790.
