If you’ve spent any amount of time on Maui, you’ve no doubt seen this tagline on the side of the road or a bumper sticker. It really is a way of life in Maui, but vacation checklists and crowds have a way of speeding up life in one of the most beautiful and relaxing places on the planet. Here’s a short list of places that are sure to help you catch your breath and drink in all that Maui has to offer.
The name alone makes this stop self-explanatory, but words and pictures can’t perfectly capture the beauty of Maui’s Garden of Eden. This early stop on the road to Hana boasts abundant and diverse Flora featured in Jurassic Park and is a great introduction to the tropical side of the island.
This spot has been featured on the blog before and probably will be again, but not without reason. Lavender scones, coffee and tea, guided tours, and space to relax or explore all make this the perfect place to decompress and find some quiet. Perhaps the best part of the Lavender Farms is the panoramic view of the rest of Maui and the surrounding ocean from above.
I’ll admit, the name only sounds 50 percent relaxing (and for anyone not a fan of goats, Maui does have plenty of goat-less yoga), but some adorable wildlife brings a little extra playfulness to a pretty peaceful event. Sometimes a sunset Yoga Session with live music and miniature goats is just what the doctor ordered; just be sure you book your reservation soon!!
This is another spot that falls into the half-relaxing category because it is a bit difficult to access, but the hike is a fair price to pay to access one of the quietest spots on earth.
There are several different trail options, but driving to the summit to hang out above the clouds and watch the sunsets can be equally relaxing and rewarding if you’re not looking to hike.
Hotels are all around Maui, and many of Wailea and Kaanapali’s Resorts offer fantastic spa packages for locals and tourists staying elsewhere. The Four Seasons, Grand Wailea, and Black Rock all have world-class facilities and spa packages for everyone (if you keep an eye out, you might even be able to find a package on sale).
No matter what you choose to do, Maui is the perfect place to relax, so it’s hard to go wrong, but hopefully, this guide will get you started!
