Tropical Vacation Family Style

Relaxing on a beautiful Maui beach for the day is the perfect way to enjoy a tropical paradise. Unfortunately, most visitors aged 2-18 might disagree and may not have the same appreciation for all the scenic beauty the Valley Isle has to offer. Don’t worry; we’ve got plenty of exciting options the whole family will love!

Old Lahaina Luau

The Old Lahaina Luau is the perfect combination of education and entertainment that features a night of song, dance, and storytelling with a bounty of favorite local foods. This is a must-see/ hear/ taste experience that really gives you a glimpse of what makes Hawaii what it is.

Whale Watching

Whale watching is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for anyone and any age. The crew aboard most Lahaina whale watch vessels (Pacific Whale Foundation, Trilogy, and others) are very knowledgeable about any of the marine life you might encounter. The excursions typically feature explanations of whale activity, listening to whale songs, and at least a couple of whale-themed jokes. For those looking to stay on dry land, a good pair of binoculars (or even just your eyes) and a beach anywhere on south or west Maui can be a fulfilling whale-watching experience. The Maui Ocean Center in Maalaea is another great place to see and learn about ocean creatures without boarding a boat.

Surf Lessons

Surfing can be intimidating, but Maui has plenty of surf schools to get anybody up and ride some waves. Maui Wave Riders offer lessons and rentals at excellent beginner surf spots in Kihei and Lahaina. Paddleboard and Kayak rentals are another great way to get everyone out on the water. Be careful, though; after riding a couple of waves, a single lesson might not be enough to satisfy your surfing needs. Fortunately, Maui has plenty of surf spots all around the island for every level of surfer; make surf to research them before you go out!

Snorkeling

Not all Maui snorkel spots are created equal. The ocean can be unpredictable at times, but the snorkeling at Black Rock Beach in Kaanapali is one of the best options for all ages. These crystal clear waters are home to scores of different fish species (20 percent of which can only be found in Hawaii) and a soft sandy beach that's the perfect place to play and relax all day. Look no further if you're looking for a consistent spot with plenty of nearby activities and dining options.

Trampoline Park

Maui is all sunshine and rainbows almost every day of the year, but we do need a bit of rain to keep everything green, so planning for a rainy day is never a bad idea. The newly constructed Ultimate Air Trampoline park in Kahului lets kids burn off all that extra energy playing trampoline dodgeball, diving into foam pits, playing trampoline basketball, and more!
