Top 5 Maui Restaurants for an Amazing Meal

Is any beach vacation complete without a creamy mai tai, fresh fish taco, or scrumptious burger? While Maui has plenty of great options for a delicious meal, we don't want you to waste a single meal. Check out our list for the top eats on Maui and come hungry; these eats are ONO.

Casual Eats

Almost all dining on Maui is casual. For a fancy restaurant experience, you'll want to check out Spago's or Mama's Fish House. However, we're going to focus on the spots where you won't need a reservation, and can just pop in for an amazing meal.

Nalu's South Shore Grill

Located in Central Kihei in the Azeka plaza, Nalu's South Shore Grill is a favorite spot. They offer delicious breakfasts and have live music at night. What makes this place so fun is the open-air beach vibe. Half-open walls and bright greenery surrounding the restaurant feel like a tropical experience.

Happy hour is every day from 3-6 pm, and it's first-come, first-served. Line up outside, order at the hostess stand, and then take a seat and relax!

Monkeypod Kitchen

With two locations on Maui and two more on Oahu, you can bet that Monkeypod Kitchen knows what it's doing. The two Maui locations are on opposite sides of the island, one on the South shore and one on the West side, making it an easy spot to fit into your vacation plans.

Serving farm-to-table, fresh food and a renowned mai tai (topped with fresh lilikoi foam) Monkeypod is always busy. It's bustling during its happy hours of 3:30-5:00 pm, so if you want to get half-off pizzas and cheaper cocktails, we'd recommend getting there early.

Maui Brew Co.

Maui Brew Co. is up on a hill in Kihei and has a large outdoor space filled with yard games and twinkling lights. Come in the evenings for the live music or earlier in the day for the beautiful and calming atmosphere.

Of course, if you'd rather overlook Ka'anapali beach, there's another location on the west side offering the same 100% locally made beer and artisanal food. The live music is daily from 6:00-8:00 pm, and happy hour is from 3:00-5:00 pm.

Tin Roof

A tiny hole in the wall in Kahului, Tin Roof offers fantastic local food at affordable prices. Owned by Chef Sheldon, this lunch shop is the place to go for mochiko chicken or delicious saimin. This mom-and-pop shop doesn't have indoor seating. It pretty much just has a bench outside. That doesn't deter people from going, and you'll often find a line waiting out front.

Grab your kau kau tin and pop a squat on the curb- it'll be one of the best meals you'll have.

Flatbread Company

Located in Paia, Flatbread Company is best known for "the Mopsy." This fresh take on the Hawaiian-style pizza features barbecue sauce and kalua pork. Topped with pineapple and baked in the wood-fired oven right in front of you, flatbread is truly a culinary delight.

You can even split flatbreads into two flavors, so if you're having trouble picking between their delicious combos, you can enjoy them both! Flatbread is the perfect end to the Road to Hana or even a trip upcountry.

Conclusion

For a small island, Maui has tons of delicious food options. While you'll have plenty of great places to choose from, you won't be disappointed if you eat at any of these five spots. Enjoy an ono meal and relax! You're in paradise!
